Lightsaber
What you find in here, is the result of two years work, on and off.
The original tutorial, came about after watching a video tutorial on how to rotocopes lightsabers in Adobe Photoshop.
Since, Adobe Photoshop is commonly used in the Fan Film community, I wondered if this method could be applied to Corel Paint Shop Pro. After a lot of trial and error, and, of course asking a lot of questions, I eventually worked out how to do it.
The original version of the tutorial can be found here, but the version on my site, is the most current.
Since version 8 of Paint Shop Pro, parts of this tutorial can be automated, through scripting facility built into Paint Shop Pro.
Rounded Tip Tutorial
This tutorial came about, because I wasn't happy with the way end of lightsaber looked, so after looking around some of the options for the line draw tool, I found a way round it, and wrote the tutorial.
Fan Effect Tutorial
This tutorial has gone through several rewrites since the original.
The original version of this tutorial had you drawing 7 lines to cover up the gap, and while the end result was the same, it just seemed to much. It was only through testing a later version of Paint Shop Pro, did I find a way round the problem.
